Netflix opened its global production and innovation studio, Eyeline Studios, in Hyderabad on March 12, 2026. The company frames the launch as a long-term investment in India's Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics sector, positioning the country as a node in its global production pipelines.
What the facility contains
The office spans 32,000 square feet and is equipped for advanced visual effects and generative virtual effects, supported by a hybrid cloud infrastructure. Netflix describes a workspace designed around collaboration and employee wellbeing.
The hybrid cloud detail is the one that determines how the site actually functions. A visual effects facility connected to shared cloud infrastructure can take work from productions shooting elsewhere, which is what distinguishes an integrated node from a regional office serving local titles only.
Fifth in a network, not a standalone office
Hyderabad joins Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul and London as the fifth Eyeline location, and Netflix states it is designed as a fully integrated part of that network rather than an independent studio. The practical consequence is that Hyderabad's capacity is available to productions worldwide, and that the site's workload need not depend on Indian productions alone.
Who marked the opening
Eyeline chief executive Jeff Shapiro led the event alongside Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju, and actor and producer Rana Daggubati. The presence of state and central government figures reflects the policy backdrop Netflix cites — India's push on skilling and creative-technology infrastructure.
What the announcement does not say
Netflix gives a floor area but no headcount, no hiring target and no investment figure for the Hyderabad site, so its scale relative to the other four locations is not established. Nor does the announcement name any production the facility is working on, or describe what proportion of its capacity is reserved for Netflix titles.
The absence of a jobs figure is the notable gap given how the launch is framed. Netflix presents the studio as a long-term investment in India's creative-technology workforce and points to the country's focus on skilling, but publishes nothing on how many people the site employs or expects to train.
