Nintendo will release Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension as a physical bundle on October 29. The package puts the Switch 2 version of the base game and the Mega Dimension expansion on a single game card rather than selling the card as a base-game key with a separate DLC purchase.
The same card boots on Switch, but it cannot bring Switch 2 upgrades with it
Nintendo says the Switch 2 Edition card is playable on the original Nintendo Switch family. On that hardware, however, the game behaves like the standard Switch software: the improved resolution, smoother frame rate and other features that depend on Switch 2 specifications are unavailable.
Mega Dimension itself extends the Lumiose City story with Hoopa and spatial distortions. Nintendo's support documentation says the DLC works with both the original game and the Switch 2 Edition, which is important for households moving a copy or virtual game card between systems.
The 100 Ultra Balls are a single-save bonus
The physical package includes a serial code for 100 Ultra Balls delivered through Mystery Gift. Nintendo limits that item code to one redemption per save file, so it is a starting inventory bonus rather than a repeatable supply attached to the card.
For existing owners, the package is primarily a consolidated physical option. Nintendo already sells the Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack and Mega Dimension separately, so buying the October bundle is not required to access either upgrade digitally.
