Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday trailer sets a December 18 UK cinema release, a three-universe collision and a huge ensemble led by Robert Downey Jr. as the central threat.

The UK release date is December 18

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to open in UK cinemas on December 18, 2026. Marvel's new trailer frames the film as a collision involving heroes from three universes facing an existential threat. The announcement does not map every character to a numbered reality, leaving the mechanics of the crossover deliberately unclear.

The Russo brothers return to Marvel's ensemble format

Anthony and Joe Russo direct, returning to Marvel's ensemble format, while Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz are among the producers. Robert Downey Jr. appears in the cast on the opposing side of the story, but the trailer information should not be stretched into unconfirmed explanations about identity, variants or the fate of Tony Stark.

The announced cast spans several Marvel teams

The announced ensemble includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan and Letitia Wright. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and other returning performers broaden the crossover.

Infinity Vision adds a premium-format option

Marvel also promotes Infinity Vision, a premium large-format certification developed with exhibition partners. The company describes brighter imagery and tailored sound standards. It is a presentation specification, not evidence of a different narrative cut, and exact availability will depend on which participating cinemas install or certify the required system.

Marvel has not confirmed roles or alternate versions

The December date and cast come from Marvel's UK announcement. Ticket sales, ratings, runtime and international release details may differ or arrive later. NexusGG has not seen the film and treats the trailer as marketing evidence: it confirms images and credited participants, but not fan theories about deaths, secret roles or post-credit scenes.
