Marvel Studios released a new trailer and poster for Avengers: Doomsday on July 20, 2026. Disney's UK announcement confirms the film opens exclusively in cinemas on December 18, 2026, and that it will be shown in INFINITY VISION, a new certification Marvel is applying to premium large-format screens.

Who is making it

Anthony and Joe Russo direct, returning to the Avengers films they last handled with Endgame. Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz produce.

A cast list of thirty, and what it implies

The announcement names thirty actors, which is unusual enough to be the story in itself. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn and Mabel Cadena are listed, with Tenoch Huerta Mejia.

The composition matters more than the length. The list spans the current Avengers roster, the Fantastic Four, and actors associated with the earlier X-Men films, which lines up with Marvel's own one-line premise: heroes from three distinct universes set on a collision course against a single existential threat. What the announcement does not do is say which character any given actor plays, so role assumptions drawn from previous franchises remain assumptions.

What INFINITY VISION actually is

Marvel describes INFINITY VISION as a certification for premium large-format cinemas rather than a new projection technology of its own. Disney's stated guarantee covers large screens, bright images and sound quality — a badge indicating a venue meets a presentation standard. It is a marketing certification, and the announcement does not list which chains or sites will carry it.

What is still unconfirmed

The release does not give a runtime, a certificate rating, or any detail on how the three-universe premise resolves. Release dates for individual territories beyond the UK cinema date are not covered here, and nothing in the announcement addresses home or streaming availability. NexusGG has not seen Avengers: Doomsday and makes no judgement on it.
