Cyberpunk 2077's free Update 2.5 arrives October 22 with a new way to build V around two guns at once, five clinics for recoloring arm cyberware and two additional side quests. The patch is called the Edgerunners 2 Update, but its most consequential additions extend beyond the anime tie-in: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S gain an in-game route to selected player-made mods, while console players also get a field-of-view slider.
CD Projekt Red lists an October 22 release for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Mac copies bought through Steam, GOG or the Epic Games Store. Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version are due in the following days, so owners on those two routes should not read the main date as simultaneous availability. The studio has not announced an exact later date or a download size.
Double Trouble turns Power handguns into a new build
The new Double Trouble perk sits in the Cool tree and allows V to dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category. Four auxiliary perks branch from it. That wording matters: the official notes do not promise two copies of every handgun type, and they frame dual-wielding as a perk investment rather than a universal action available to every build.
Update 2.5 also separates the look of arm implants from their function. After equipping Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire or the Projectile Launch System, V can visit one of five new Glamdocs, marked by a spray-paint icon on the map, to choose cyberware skins and colors. Each Glamdoc has a distinct shop, catalog, introduction, voiceover and animations. Previously NPC-only hairstyles are joining character customization too, although some remain limited by V's selected body type.
Two quests carry the substantial rewards
Clampdown is set before Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 and unlocks after The Heist plus two gigs for Wakako; the player then waits for her message. Completing the quest is the route to King's five-piece gear set. HKGN 102.0 FM adds music from the Edgerunners series, connecting the update to the show without making the rest of the patch dependent on watching it.
Welcome to Paradise opens after The Heist and Street Cred level 15, sending V on a guided tour narrated by Night City founder Richard Night. A separate extension of Fool on the Hill begins when the player scans one of 12 new Minor Arcana tarot cards, now separated from Major Arcana in the Tarot menu; finding the full set awards a special reward. CD Projekt Red has not identified that reward in the published notes.
Four of the five new outfit sets have named sellers: Maxiwear in Heywood, Arroyo and Little China; Jinguji in City Center; NetWatch in Kabuki and Japantown; and IconAmerica in Pacifica, the Badlands and Northside. The fifth is explicitly scheduled to appear later. The NUS Infiltrator set also moves to shops in Kabuki and Japantown. Four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are Twitch Drops rather than ordinary purchases, while Photo Mode gains dual-wielding poses and Cyberpunk Trading Card Game frames.
Console mods come with an achievement tradeoff
The mod.io-powered browser brings a curated selection of player-created mods into the game on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. CD Projekt Red calls this a first step and says more mods will be added over time, so it should not be read as unrestricted access to the entire PC mod scene. On consoles, loading a modded save disables achievements or trophies for that save; the load menu marks those saves with their own icon.
Other interface changes target long-running friction points. Save files are grouped by playthrough, apartment and vehicle stashes gain item filters, and consoles receive an FOV slider. The account connection, My Rewards and telemetry-consent menus have also been revised. Together, those changes make a return to an old character easier to organize even for players who skip the anime quests and cosmetics.
HDR, ray tracing and upscaling receive targeted changes
On PC, the patch adds DLSS 4.5 with up to 6X or dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Nvidia's second-generation Transformer Model. AMD's menu drops FSR 3 upscaling while retaining FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, and adds an FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle. MetalFX Frame Interpolation arrives on supported Macs, while compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors gain glasses-free 3D and a Motion Comfort control.
CD Projekt Red also lists performance optimization for ray tracing and PS5 Pro, plus revised HDR rendering across compatible displays. The fixed-issue list is specific about several regressions: PS5 HDR controls that had no effect, Switch 2 saves incorrectly reporting insufficient space, Film Grain doing nothing, scanning tags triggering crouch or stand on some control schemes, missing third-person-camera controller settings, and a Delamain cab collision that could block Things Done Changed. The notes add general fixes for features introduced since Patch 2.1, but do not claim a broader balance pass.
