Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger will receive its world premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, then open in select IMAX and standard cinemas on September 9. Disney announced the plan on July 23, 2026. The documentary is a Hulu Original film that Disney+ is presenting as a special theatrical engagement.
The release path runs cinema first, then two different services
The distribution route is worth reading carefully because it differs by territory. After the theatrical window, the film streams exclusively on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, and on both Hulu and Disney+ in the United States, in each case later in the year. Disney has not given a streaming date, so the September 9 cinema opening is the only fixed date in the announcement.
Who made it
The documentary comes from Magna Studios and is presented by Sony Music Vision in association with Sony Music Entertainment UK. Steven Knight, the writer and producer behind Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows, created it. Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace direct, having previously made the music documentaries Shut Up and Play the Hits and Meet Me in the Bathroom.
Sam Bridger and Guy Heeley produce. The technical credits are unusually front-loaded for a music documentary: sound mixers James Mather and Tarn Willers, cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos, and editors George Cragg and Martina Zamolo, which is consistent with a film built for an IMAX presentation.
What the film covers
The documentary charts Liam and Noel Gallagher's reunion tour, Oasis Live '25. Disney describes access spanning rehearsal, backstage and onstage footage, and — the detail most likely to draw viewers who are not already tour attendees — the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam in more than twenty years. Alongside the tour itself, the film examines what the band's music means to audiences across generations.
What the announcement does not settle
Disney has not published a runtime, a certificate, the Venice screening date, or which cinemas will carry the IMAX presentation. The streaming windows are given only as later this year. The description of the film as uplifting is the distributor's own framing, not an assessment; NexusGG has not seen it.
