Control Resonant’s Assist Mode will not block trophies or achievements, Remedy says ahead of the September 24 PS5 launch. Players can change individual combat settings during play, including making the game harder.
Separate timing pressure from damage
The settings include enemy aggression, the perfect-dodge window and incoming damage. A player who struggles with timing could widen the dodge window without lowering every other challenge. This is a practical distinction between tailoring one obstacle and choosing a blanket easier mode.
The setting fits the sequel’s change in combat. Dylan Faden takes the Aberrant, a transforming melee weapon, into a warped Manhattan. PlayStation’s game page describes forms including a two-handed hammer and paired blades, alongside powers and environmental combat. Getting close to an enemy makes positioning and the ability to read an attack especially relevant.
Manhattan also broadens the story beyond the Oldest House. Dylan is searching for his sister Jesse while confronting threats including the Hiss and Mold. For someone drawn to that setting, adjustable combat offers a way to keep progressing through the city when a particular fight becomes a barrier. These are announced options, not results from a hands-on accessibility test.
