Gears of War: E-Day has gone gold, and The Coalition has now put exact times on the download and launch windows. Pre-install opens September 29 at 08:00 Pacific, or 15:00 UTC, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. That is a download window, not the point at which everyone can play.
Premium Edition starts five days before Game Pass
Premium Edition buyers get early access from October 1 at 08:00 Pacific (15:00 UTC). The worldwide launch follows October 6 at the same time. The Coalition says Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers enter on October 6, so the subscription does not itself include the five-day head start.
That difference is the practical choice for players deciding whether to pay for Premium. Pre-installing on September 29 helps avoid a launch-day download, but it does not change the entitlement attached to an edition or subscription.
The launch platforms and PC specification caveat
The confirmed platforms are Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. The Coalition also published a PC specification image alongside the announcement; players should compare their hardware with that official chart before buying, especially after the studio said it had continued stability and performance work since the July multiplayer beta. Going gold marks a release milestone, not a guarantee that no further patches will arrive.
