007 First Light adds path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction on September 15. IO Interactive and NVIDIA describe the update as a PC visual upgrade for lighting, shadows and reflections; it does not change the game’s missions or story.
Ray Reconstruction cleans up the expensive part of path tracing
Path tracing samples light across a scene, while Ray Reconstruction replaces hand-tuned denoisers with an AI model that rebuilds missing visual detail. The game already supported DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, so the new piece is the reconstruction pass used with the heavier lighting mode.
NVIDIA says its second-generation transformer model uses 35% more compute capability and 20% more parameters than the previous version while targeting similar performance. Those figures describe the model, not a guaranteed frame-rate uplift in 007 First Light. The announcement provides no per-GPU benchmark, resolution target or preset comparison.
GeForce NOW Ultimate offers a cloud route to the same feature set
Players without a capable local GeForce RTX system can stream the path-traced version through a GeForce NOW Ultimate membership, according to both companies. That is an access alternative rather than ownership of the PC hardware, and streaming quality will still depend on the player’s connection and the service’s regional availability.
