BlizzCon’s sequel reveal points to 2029, but Diablo IV gets a new season and a Switch 2 collection this week. The Amazon follows in 2027.

Diablo IV has the immediate date to circle after BlizzCon: September 15. Blizzard says Season of Hell’s Legacy begins rolling out at 9:30 a.m. Pacific that day, which is 19:30 in Israel. Its Nintendo Switch 2 release is also dated September 15; the season’s rollout time should not be treated as a separate confirmation of the console edition’s store unlock.

The Switch 2 release is the Age of Hatred Collection, bundling the base game with Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. Blizzard specifies USB mouse-and-keyboard support, but not Joy-Con 2 mouse functionality. That distinction matters if the console’s mouse controls are the reason you planned to buy this version.

The sequel and the next class are on different calendars

Diablo V is announced for spring 2029, set in a Sanctuary where Diablo has already won. Meanwhile, Diablo IV’s Amazon class pack is due in the first half of 2027. The new season brings back the Prime Evils and Deckard Cain, alongside anniversary rewards. Together, those dates show continued plans for the existing game alongside its successor, rather than an immediate handover.

For returning players, the useful choice this week is therefore the platform and collection they need. The Amazon is a later addition; its announcement should not be read as part of September’s Switch 2 bundle.
